Aims and Scope
BIJAEES publishes research and scholarly work in agricultural economics, agricultural extension, rural development, rural sociology and related fields where the research question and contribution are substantively relevant to the journal.
Use the scope as a decision tool: a strong manuscript should do more than describe a setting. It should clarify a problem, test or improve an explanation, evaluate policy or practice, advance a method, or provide evidence that can inform research or development decisions. BIJAEES is published twice yearly, in June and December.
Article Types
Original Research Article (normally 5,000–8,000 words); Review Article (6,000–10,000); Short Communication (2,500–4,000); Case Study or Survey/Field Report (3,500–6,000); Policy Analysis/Commentary (2,000–4,000); Opinion/Essay (1,500–3,000); and Book Review (1,000–1,500). Word ranges normally exclude the abstract, references, tables and figure captions.
Use APA 7th edition consistently for in-text citations and the reference list. Every cited work must appear in the reference list and every reference-list entry must be cited in the manuscript. Add the DOI as an HTTPS link when one exists; otherwise use a stable URL where appropriate.
Use author–date citations in the text. For three or more authors, use the first author followed by et al. from the first citation. Check names, years, titles, source details and persistent identifiers against the original source before submission. Formatting examples are provided in the final appendix.
Authorship and Contributions
List as authors only people who made a genuine scholarly contribution and accept responsibility for the work. Confirm the final author list and order before submission. Describe contributions using the CRediT roles, and enter author names, affiliations and ORCID iDs accurately in the submission system.
Competing Interests
Disclose financial, professional or personal relationships that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the work. If there are no competing interests, state this explicitly. Download the Declaration of Interests form where required.
Funding, Ethics and Data
Name funding organisations and grant numbers where applicable. For research involving people, animals, protected locations, sensitive data or other regulated activities, state the relevant approval or consent information. Provide a clear data-availability statement where appropriate.
AI-assisted Tools
Follow the Glintplus Editorial Policy for the use of AI-assisted tools. AI tools cannot be authors; authors remain responsible for accuracy, originality, attribution, confidentiality and the integrity of the submitted work.
BIJAEES uses double-anonymous peer review. Prepare the review manuscript so that authors cannot be identified from names, affiliations, acknowledgements, file properties or other avoidable clues. Keep author information in the submission metadata and the separate title-page file. Manuscripts that proceed to external review are normally assessed by at least two suitably qualified reviewers.
Licence
Accepted articles are published open access under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication. Authors are responsible for permissions for third-party material where permission is required.
There is no manuscript submission fee. An article publication fee applies only after acceptance. Consult the journal’s current Article Processing Fee page for the applicable amount, payment instructions and any approved discount or waiver arrangement.
Before starting the online submission, prepare the manuscript and submission files so that the documents and the metadata entered online agree.
Language and Writing
Write in clear, consistent British English, except in direct quotations or official titles. Define non-standard abbreviations at first use and use SI units where applicable.
Manuscript Template
Download the Glintplus manuscript template and use it as the starting structure for the manuscript. Journal-specific requirements in this guide take precedence where they are more specific.
Manuscript Formatting
Use A4 pages, margins of at least 2.5 cm, Times New Roman 12-point font, 1.5 line spacing, consecutive page numbers and continuous line numbering where possible. Submit an editable Microsoft Word file.
Manuscript Structure
For an original research article, use a concise title, preferably no more than 20 words; a self-contained abstract of 200–300 words; and four to six keywords. The abstract should state the problem or background, objective, methodology, principal findings and conclusion.
Normally organise original research articles as Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion and Conclusion, followed by the relevant acknowledgements, declarations and references. Describe the design, sampling, measurement, data collection, analysis and ethical considerations clearly enough for scholarly assessment.
Tables, Figures, Maps and Illustrations
Number tables and figures consecutively, cite them in the text and give each a clear title or caption. Keep tables editable, avoid unnecessary duplication of the same result, and supply raster figures at a minimum of 300 dpi. Maps should include the information needed for interpretation.
Statistical Reporting
Identify the statistical software and version used, define variables and analytical procedures, and report the statistics needed to evaluate the findings, including uncertainty measures and assumptions where relevant.
Supplementary Material
Upload supplementary material separately where it supports the article. Label it consistently, cite it from the manuscript and provide enough description for the file to be understood.

Required Forms and Preparation Resources
Manuscript template · Declaration of Interests form.
Complete the resources that apply to the submission and keep the information consistent with the manuscript and submission metadata.
After acceptance, respond promptly to production queries and check the proof carefully for completeness, author information, tables, figures, references and essential production errors. The proof stage is not intended for major new analyses or extensive rewriting. Publication proceeds through the journal production workflow and DOI registration where applicable after the required checks are complete.
For manuscript preparation, start with the manuscript template and this guide. For publication ethics and integrity questions, consult the Editorial Policy. Use the journal’s live Submission information, Article Processing Fee, Editorial Team and Contact pages for current journal-specific records.
Before opening the submission form, confirm that the preparation, integrity and submission requirements above are complete. Use the final checklist below and ensure that the manuscript files and online metadata agree.

Double-anonymous Anonymisation Check
Before uploading the anonymised manuscript, remove author names and affiliations, acknowledgements that identify the authors, unnecessary self-identifying statements, tracked author information and personal metadata in the document properties. Do not distort legitimate citations to the authors’ previous work.
