Editorial decisions, appeals and proofs
Editorial decisions and appeals
Editorial decisions are based on relevance, originality, methodological soundness, clarity, ethical compliance and contribution to the field. Authors who believe that a decision resulted from a demonstrable factual or procedural error may submit a reasoned appeal to the Editor-in-Chief. Appeals should address the specific basis of the decision and should not merely express disagreement with reviewers’ academic judgement. The outcome of an appeal is final.
Proofs and corrections
The corresponding author will receive page proofs for final checking. Proofs should be corrected and returned promptly within the time stated by the Editorial Office. Corrections at proof stage should normally be limited to typographical, formatting or factual errors. Substantial changes to the accepted manuscript may require editorial approval and may delay publication.
