Glintplus launches special issue on floods; calls for paper

Glintplus launches a special issue on “Flooding and other climate-related crises: consequences and mitigating measures” to be published in her three open-access journals: Chemistry of the Total Environment (COTE), Journal of Mining and Geosciences (JMG) and Journal of Agriculture and Applied Biotechnology (JAAB). A multidisciplinary issue in solidarity with the environmental disasters of 2022. WHO said climate change will cause approximately 250 000 deaths per year from malnutrition, malaria, diarrhoea and heat stress yearly between 2030 and 2050, and their impacts on other biodiversity and the economy are major concerns to us. Keeping biodiversity alive is a responsibility we all share, so we decided to join the concerned individuals and organizations.

Why this special issue?

In 2022, unexpected environmental developments and disasters become more common across continents, including catastrophic floods in Pakistan, Nigeria, and other countries, heavy rains in Italy, wildfires in the United States, deadly landslides in Uganda, a super typhoon in the Philippines, a powerful storm in Spain, and a hurricane in Cuba, to name a few. Numerous lives were lost, thousands of people were displaced, the economy is affected, and various other effects are being documented.

Scope of the issue

Our journals address a wide range of subjects related to climate change and biodiversity. These include but are not limited to, environmental pollution, food shortages, safe mining designs and biodiversity, agroforestry, human biomonitoring, health consequences, and greenhouse gas emissions. Publications in this special issue will be useful for policy and individual initiatives in sectors such as transportation, food and energy, and so on.

Call for paper and publication charges

To avoid future incidents, academic groups and the general public must grasp the causes and implications of these climate crises. We, therefore, invite researchers to submit their studies on the subject for publication in our journals. There will be no APC ($ 0.0); however, the authors or funding organization will be charged a $ 15.0 administrative fee, plus VAT. Some topics and details for submission are available on the journals’ websites; COTE (e-ISSN: 2971-7035; p-ISSN: 2805-3419), JAAB (ISSN: 2971-7051) and JMG (ISSN: 2971-7043).
